Kris, Bob and Rob continue to work on some new songs for the upcoming "Before It's Gone" collection. It's all happening at Bob's studio "SCubed." It looks like there may be 18 - 20 tracks on "BIG" before all is said and done. Bob's my space link... www.myspace.com/bobschlink ...you can hear some of Bob's solo (and team) tracks there.

Speaking of "SCubed," that's where Rob (Bob's son) is working on two projects: Rude Mood, a Blues unit, and Torc, a Goth Metal band. Rob's my space links... www.myspace.com/robschlink ...and for Rude Mood... www.myspace.com/rudemoodmusic ...Torc's website is being constructed as we speak. Rude Mood will be at Patrick's in Malden, MA, Sat. night, Feb 16th ...lot's of blues and classic rock !

And, not to be out done, Ava (Bob's daughter and wife of Rob Gaudet, an LA Producer www.myspace.com/1stdegreeproductions ) along with Rob (Bob's son) and Bob have two tunes in the can for Ava's forthcoming movie "Evil Angel"..."Unspeakable" and "You Try" which will both be in the movie. Most of the recording was done at "SCubed" with some at 1st Degree Productions in LA (Rob Gaudet's studio). Ava's sites... avagaudet.com and www.myspace.com/avagaudet ...Ava, by the way, has been seen in 5 episodes of ABC's "Ugly Betty" series ! A slightly different arrangement of "Unspeakable" will also be on "Darkwind" the soon (i.e. eventually) to be released CD from Rob (Bob's son) band Torc.

Here's a collection of Mog Email Newsletters from back in the day. This collection will give you the flavor of what was happening with MoG 10 years ago. These went out to over 1100 email addresses by the time the newsletter was discontinued in March of 1999. Some of the original formatting may not survive this conversion to the website, but you'll be able to get an idea of what was going on, and, some of you who were MoG fans and supporters will recognize your names and the placeswhere MoG was playing. Remember, the website referenced is no longer under MoG control, but you can use The Way Back Machine to look at archives of the actual site pages - some will work, some won't...  http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

Unfortunately, some of those people and places are no longer with us. We very much appreciate their and your support !  To those no longer with us - R.I.P.

Hey Everyone, Greetings from BE Music, Boston.
Here's some info on a cool upcoming MoG appearance.
It's for 104.1 WBCN's NHL Breakout Bash being held Saturday, June 21st at Boston's famous Revere Beach. It's an outdoor gig on a stage right on the beach. I'm not sure what thrust for the NHL in the summer is, but this should be a great exposure show for the MoGsters ! BCN will have all sorts of vendor (Nike, etc.) booths set up in the area. Lots of families and MoG target audience. MoG will be on at approx. 4 pm for 2 sets and the boys are working on a smokin' Beach Boys cover tune (just kidding!).

BCN will be doing lots of on air promos and mentions about this baby. Don't know if there'll be any MoG music in the background, but a lot of people are going to hear the word (name) MoG on 104.1 !

We've got our voodoo people working on a great weather day so don't worry about that element !
Spread the word. Fly-ins are encouraged so get on the phone to your travel agent !
If you need more info, directions, etc. call me at 508-635-9586, or email.

All the best, Harvey Wharfield

P.S. Just got the word today: MoG opening for EDDIE MONEY Saturday, August 23rd at the Hampton Beach (NH) Casino Ballroom ! Details as they become available !

"too fisted" with a Southern Drawl !

We now have MoG's CD "too fisted" in the leading CD and tape chain in South Carolina !

We're in all stores of this 6 store chain - Manifest Discs & Tapes based out of Columbia, SC. !  The chain includes the home store in Columbia as well as Wilmington, Greenville, Charleston, Clemson and Florence.  All of these towns have very active local music scenes and the Manifest chain is a big supporter of independent record labels.

Manifest will be very helpful when MoG does it's southern Hard Rock Tour coming up in Sept or Oct. We'll hopefully get some kind of radio play and interviews when the Myrtle Beach, NC Hard Rock date comes up ! (Just a stone's throw from Manifest's reach !)

SPECIAL THANKS to Doug Kendall, of McBee, SC, music scene writer for two hip publications Five O'Clock Friday and YIKES ! of Florence and Myrtle Beach, respectively. Doug turned us on to the folks at Manifest !

- 6/21's Revere Beach Gig for WBCN

MoG had a fantastic outdoor show at Revere Beach on the 1st day of summer. We were at the NHL Breakout '97 which featured 100 or so teams competing in roller blade street hockey sanctioned by the National Hockey League. There were all sorts of vendor booths set up for the crowd of about 4000 people. The weather was great except it was in the 90's, but no rain !  MoG was one of two bands selected by 104.1 WBCN to provide entertainment for the gathering. 'BCN broadcast from the breakout hyping it to their large listening audience and of course mentions about MoG's upcoming set at 4:00. MoG started their set at a little after 4 and were introduced by one of the WBCN "Street Team" personalities, Cindy Doll. MoG ran thru 10-12 of their crowd pleasing songs. The gig was also the debut of MoG's new 4 foot by 6 foot MoG logo banner. You couldn't miss it !  Very pro looking and thousands of attendees saw it !  We had to hose the boys off after the gig !

>> Also...MoG gig spotlighted in the Friday (6/20) "Rock Notes" column in the Music Section of the Boston Globe by veteran scene reporter Steve Morse. Here's the excerpt: " MoG (LA music award winners) play at 4 pm tomorrow on Revere Beach as part of the "Breakout '97" Rollerblade Tourney." Short and sweet, but in front of a lot of eyes ! Thanks, Steve !

- Upcoming shows

* NEW SHOW...just added...Sat. 7/12 at Kenny's Castaways on Bleeker Street in NYC's Greenwich Village.  MoG is on at 11:00pm for a prime spot set.

* MoG will be back at The Spiral on E. Houston in NYC perhaps in the 3rd week of July. More details soon.

* Sat. 8/23 at the Hampton Beach (NH) Casino Ballroom opening for EDDIE MONEY.

- New Selling Flyers for "too fisted"...

We now have some very snappy looking MoG "too fisted" selling flyers that were put together by our fulfillment house Krystal Rose Music part of Superdups who pressed "too fisted" for us. They're great to leave at clubs, deli's, music equipment stores, etc. Of course, I'm so fanatical about MoG that I'm putting a flyer in each envelope that goes to someone I have to pay bills too. (That's a bunch of people !) Hey, who knows whose hands MoG may fall into !

- MoG website to be upgraded soon...

The current MoG website (www.Mogmusic.net) will be upgraded soon and plans call for a full-time webmaster to oversee it. There'll be upgraded sound and graphics, more timely info, more archiving of MoG publicity, tour schedules, etc...more reasons to come back including online discount coupons for live gigs, etc.

That's it for this time. Comments and suggestions are encouraged !

If you need more info, etc. call me at 508-635-9586 or email.

All the best,

Harvey

- MoG In Rotation At THE SPIRAL CLUB, etc. NYC !

- Just Added:  New Show At BERKLEE CAFE, Wed 7/30 !

Welcome to another jam packed MoGNews email newsletter ! Man, it's usually slow in the summer, but it seems like the throttle is all the way to the floor and the AC is blasting ! MoG continues to gear up for the EDDIE MONEY show on Saturday, August 23rd at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom on the ocean up in tax free New Hampshire. Tix are going fast, but are a bit pricey...Gold Circle tix (which I think let you actually meet Eddie and see if he uses breath fresheners) are $33...Reserved tix are $29...and General Admission are $20. We can get a limited number of GA tix for $15...if you're interested email me for details. NOTE: This will be MoG's first opening slot for The Don Law Organization !

Also, thanks a lot for checking out Ramiro Medina's song in the Billboard Demo Derby. Hopefully your software supports actually hearing "Sick Dog In The Rain". It's a great tune !  The Ramiro round of the demo derby lasts until Monday, July 21st. If you've voted for it, MANY THANKS !  And, there's no reason you can't visit the site again and vote again if you like !  While you're there make sure you register for some cool prizes like gift certificates to concerts to shopping sprees for rock memorabilia and become eligible to attend the final live showcase at the new club BILLBOARD LIVE on Sunset Blvd ! The web site is www.demoderby.com ! Thanks again !

Now, onto the stories behind the headlines...

- MoG Has 2 Songs Under Consideration For "PLANET X" TV Show !

Wednesday we signed clearances for two MoG tunes from "too fisted"..."Distance" and "Everyone Knows" for possible inclusion in the extreme sports action show "PLANET X". This syndicated cable show reaches 80+ million households in the U.S and 167+ million households in Asia, Europe, South Africa, Canada, the Middle East, Latin America, Japan and Australia ! Yikes ! So, one day or night soon you may hear a familiar MoG song in the background while some guy (or girl) is surfing, sky diving, skateboarding or jetskiing or doing something else in the Xtreme. Special thanks to our friend Joe Vaillancourt at Cygnus Productions for this opportunity !

MoG can also be accessed on Cygnus' cool sight and sound website called SOUND SAFARI at www.ssafari.com. Check it out soon. Thanks again, Joe !

- MoG On WBRS Playlist 2 Weeks Running !

A big tip of the MoG hat to Brian Rorke and "The Screamin' Demon" of WBRS, Brandeis Univ, Waltham, MA, 100.1 FM. Brian interviewed yours truly right before the WBCN out- door show for the NHL Breakout. While I was there we talked about MoG and The Viotar and Brian played 5 songs off "too fisted" !  Just this week I get a phone call from him letting me know that he actually charted MoG on the official WBRS playlist for the past two weeks running which gets sent to CMJ (a major radio trade journal). What a guy ! Thanks again, Brian ! When in Waltham tune in Brian's shows on Tuesday's from 10 am to noon and Wednesday's from 2 pm 'til 8 pm ! Here's the request number for MoG...617-736-5277 ! Just do it !

- MoG Conquers KENNY'S CASTAWAYS, Greenwich Village !

Bleeker Street will never be the same !  MoG's debut gig at world famous KENNY'S CASTAWAYS on Saturday night, July 12th was extremely successful !  MoG played to an almost full house and converted more fans to the MoG way of life. Bob, Rob and Kris along with two Berklee players, bassist Whynot and drummer Dominic, burst onto Kenny's "riverside" (inside joke, email me for details) stage at midnight and treated the boisterous New York crowd to a blistering set. Outside Kenny's one of the MoG crew accosted bewildered passersby madly waving a MoG t-shirt and worked the gathering crowd along with doorman Pete Puma who had donned one of the colorful MoG t-shirts. Pete's non-stop "Cold beer...balcony seating...Elvis is in the building ...OK, I'll let you both in for just $5, but I gotta see a valid ID" was interspersed with "Special midnight show with MoG ...See them before they play the Garden !" Everyone seemed to have a great time including the doubting-Thomas club manager, Roger with his English accent, who said after MoG left the stage, "You guys are great !," and added, "There's two guys over there who want CDs. Have you got any handy?"

Needless to say, MoG will be back this fall during high-season club time to do it all over again !  MoG now now has beach heads at Kenny's, The Spiral over on E. Houston and The Hard Rock Cafe. Soon the whole island will belong to MoG. We'll let you know when it's been secured !

- MoG In Rotation At THE SPIRAL CLUB, etc. NYC !

Our favorite soundman, Kenny #1 (there are two soundmen at The Spiral named Kenny...we'll talk about Kenny #2 in a future newsletter) has been playing choice cuts from "too fisted" between sets at The Spiral of late. Kenny #1 also jocks at a couple more clubs around NYC and plays MoG at those as well. Great job, K1 !  Keep the pressure on !

- Just Added:  New Show At BERKLEE CAFE, Wed 7/30 !

Here's a chance to see MoG for FREE in an intimate setting. Wednesday, July 30th at 9 pm MoG will be performing for the students at Boston's Berklee College of Music in the Berklee Cafe (a euphemism for the cafeteria). Bob, if you'll recall is a professor at Berklee. Hence the venue. It should be fun and is open to the public AND FREE ! Email for details for precise directions to the Cafe (!).

That's it for this time. Comments and suggestions are encouraged !

If you need more info, etc. call me at 508-635-9586 or email. MoG website (soon to be upgraded):  www.Mogmusic.net. See you there !

All the best,

Harvey

-  MõG's Opening For Eddie Money An Incredible Success !

-  MõG On Live Internet Broadcast Thursday, Sept. 25th !

-  "Everyone Knows" Video Footage Cleared For Planet X !

-  "too fisted" Now In Bull Moose Music, Portsmouth, NH !

-  Future U.S. Skating Team Members Grooving To MõG !

-  MõG Spotlighted In Superdups Mailer !

No, you didn't miss an issue of MõGNews !  It's just that getting ready for the Eddie Money show had us concentrating on doing things rather than writing about them. Now that it's over we can give you details on the show and some other exciting things that are happening for MõG...

-  MõG's Opening For Eddie Money An Incredible Success !

It was like MõG had been on the road for a year. It was as if their latest single was climbing the charts. It was like the crowd was there to finally see what the excitement was all about. I'm not kidding. I mean we were just supposed to be the opening act for Eddie Money. But, the crowd reacted like we were part of the Eddie package !

MõG burst into their first song, "Introduce Yourself", and grabbed the audience by their unsuspecting necks and never let go until the last notes of the show ender, a tasty cover of The Animals "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" !  In addition to core members, Kris Bruno, lead vocals and percussion; Bob Schlink, acoustic guitar and The VIOTAR (r); and, Rob Schlink, electric and acoustic guitar...we had two HOT new MõG players both from Berklee...bassist, Glenn Nichols and drummer Nathaniel Morton. The VIOTAR (r) Intro segment that slid into "Everyone Knows" was a real crowd pleaser. Bob made the VIOTAR (r) wail to appreciative audience members who got into it and egged him on with encouraging whistles and cheers. We shot video of the entire show and are planning to use some of the footage to send to one of our contacts at MTV/VH1 to entice them to come out and shot us and The VIOTAR (r) at the next show in NYC (more on that later !).

Yes, they were there to see Eddie, but they made MõG feel like they were actually part of his show. Special thanks to the Don Law Organization and to everyone who helped especially our road and tech crew Hal, John and Daniel !

-  MõG On Live Internet Broadcast Thursday, Sept. 25th !

We just got word that MõG will be part of a live Internet broadcast on Thursday, September 25th at one of our favorite clubs The Spiral on E. Houston down in NYC.  So, if you can't be there in person you can fire up your computer and watch. We'll be emailing the web address as soon as it's available. This gig will give MõG the biggest potential audience ever. Lots and lots of new people will get a chance to see and hear what you already know about !  We're hoping that some of the video footage from the Eddie Money show will whet the appetites of both MTV and VH1 so that they'll come out with their crews to shoot MõG and the cutting edge sounds of The VIOTAR (r).

-  "Everyone Knows" Video Footage Cleared For Planet X !

Our good friends at Cygnus Productions have made arrangements for video footage (taken from the Eddie Money show) of MõG's song "Everyone Knows" [which features The VIOTAR (r)] to be used in conjunction with the audio track to be available on an upcoming Planet X show. The Planet X extreme games program reaches 80+ million US households and another 167+ million households world wide !

-  "too fisted" Now In Bull Moose Music, Portsmouth, NH !

Meantime, up Portsmouth, NH at Bull Moose Music at 82 Congress St., MõG's 'too fisted" CD is proudly waiting for new music fans in their special "Local Music" section. Bull Moose Music is a real booster of local music and, get this, they don't even take a cut of the selling price. What a concept !  That means the prices for local music can be lower for the the buyer and the bands/artists get to keep the money that will help them go further with their careers. More stores should try this innovative approach.

After the first week of September, we'll be putting "too fisted" into the other 4 Bull Moose stores up in Maine. Bull Moose has stores near 4 college campuses including Portland and Brunswick !  A big "thank you" to Bull Moose Music !

  -  Future U.S. Skating Team Members Grooving To MõG !

On a recent business trip to Colorado, Kris Bruno got to talking with a woman who coaches future members of the U.S. Skating Team. Of course, Kris got her business card and gave her a couple of copies of "too fisted" to listen to.

Now we're told that those team members have gotten into the MõG sound and are doing their skating routines to at least 3 MõG tunes !  So, if you're watching TV sometime and recognize a MõG tune being played in the background to one of these talented skaters, now you know why.  Special thanks to Patti Snyder of the South Suburban Ice Arena ! She also passed a copy of "too fisted" onto one of the leading AAA format radio stations: KBCO-FM in Boulder !   Thanks again, Patti and best of success to your skaters !

-  MõG Spotlighted In Superdups Mailer !

Superdups of Wilmington, MA, who does our graphic design and presses our CDs, did a spotlight article on MõG for their recent brochure mailer. This mailer goes to thousands of potential and current Superdups customers all over the U.S. ! Special thanks to Bruce Bennett, Rick Schettino and Krista VanGuilder and the crew at Superdups !

That's it for this time. Comments and suggestions are encouraged !

If you need more info, etc. call me at 508-635-9586 or email. MõG website (soon to be upgraded):  www.Mogmusic.net. See you there !

-  MoG Part Of OnlineTV Promotion

Welcome to another installment of MoGNews...

First some general ramblings... MoG is gearing up for another showcase at one of our favorite clubs, The Spiral in NYC, on Wednesday, November 19th at 8:30 pm. This will be our 4th visit in recent months and should be a lot of fun. MoG will continue preview new songs that may be part of their upcoming full length CD "Introduce Yourself". We've been able to get The Spiral to agree to reducing the cover charge to loyal Team MoG members by a buck (normal door is $6) so if you'd like to be part of one of our last scheduled shows for '97 just email me and let me know how many will be in your party for our party !

The new, MoG website (www.Mogmusic.net) continues to be built and will hopefully debut in a few weeks. The old one is still just a web page, but does contain sample sound from "too fisted." The new one will be more than the current web page...an actual Web Site that will keep you totally up to speed on interesting developments in the Life of MoG.

Stay tuned...

We're waiting to see which track was selected. Special thanks to Joe Vaillancourt of Cygnus !

-  Latest Spiral Gig in NYC videotaped for OnlineTV.Com

MoG's November 19th show at The Spiral in NYC was videotaped for later broadcast on the web's hottest video site...www.onlinetv.com. This was our second show at The Spiral that was chosen to be video taped by Rick Siegel, Pres. of OnlineTV !  MoG is also on Rick's review and audio web site... www.hotstuff-nyc.com !

We also want to thank Rick for spotlighting MoG during a recent promotion for OnlineTV. MoG provided prize packages as part of a three week MoG trivia contest. During the contest, a MoG coffee mug greeted people who signed onto the OnlineTV site. The site receives upwards of 400,000 hits per month which means thousands of surfers saw MoG's name when they signed on. Yikes !

And, finally, congratulations to Rick !  Starting in December, OnlineTv will be able to broadcast "live" band sets on the Internet from The Spiral and other locations around NYC.

-  MoG review in Geoff Wilbur's Renegade Newsletter

In the August edition of the Renegade newsletter, Geoff reviewed MoG's "too fisted' CD. Here's part of it..."a bluesy, struttin', hard rockin' romp that experiments often with styles and sounds. It'd fit well in a CD player beside Extreme, Rush and Styx." That's pretty fast company ! Thanks Geoff !  But, just wait for the new CD !

-  MoG in the Fall Edition of the College Survival Guide

MoG was featured in a full page article written by Sandie Stringfellow in the College Survival Guide's Fall edition. The CSG is distributed on all of Boston's 40+ college campuses and to selected campuses throughout New England !  Thanks, Sandie !

-  MoG On WRKO Boston !

(Here's a story that was supposed to be part of MoGNews # 4 back in August, but due to operator error (that's me) somehow didn't make it. Apologies to all involved !)

Kris Bruno, Bob Schlink and Rob Schlink blew into Boston's WRKO studios on Thursday, August 21st for a midnight interview with talkmaster Jeff Katz to promote the upcoming Eddie Money show at the Hampton Beach Casino. We didn't have the faintest idea of what to expect, but we were told to bring instruments. As it turns out, Jeff Katz had to fill in the next day for the morning show so long-time Boston personality Andy Moes was filling in. It was probably a good thing that Andy was the host because his background is music and not talk. Right out of the gate it was a wild ride. Andy played a bunch of tracks from "too fisted", asked about groupies, encouraged Bob to demonstrate The Viotar-tm and all of them to do a couple of songs. Andy did a call-in contest with MoG CDs up for grabs and asked for MoG fan stories from the listeners. The hour flew by with plenty of references to the MoG opening slot for Eddie Money that coming Saturday night. The whole interview will be available soon on the MoG web site along with incriminating photos. A big thank you to Andy Moes for directing the circus. And a special thanks to John Curtin, the able producer of the Jeff Katz show, for inviting MoG to be there. Thanks again, John !

That's it for this time. Comments and suggestions are encouraged ! If you need more info, etc. call me at 978-635-9586 or email.

Happy Thanksgiving from everyone at MoG, Velocity Records and BE Music, Inc.

All the best,

Harvey

! ! ! ! Happy 1998 ! ! ! !

Welcome to all new MoGNews readers !

-  MoG To Play At The NEMO Showcase 1/17/98 !

-  MoG Part Of "Live" Internet Broadcast 1/28/98 In NYC !

Yikes !  Another New Year !  And, another new CD in progress from MoG. I've heard all of the songs that are under consideration (17 !). They are great and showoff MoG's evolving style. Out of those 17 only 12 or 13 will survive. Their 3rd CD, entitled "Introduce Yourself,"sounds like the one to put MoG over the top. Both Kris and Bob continue to write, but Rob is also writing and adding a new dimension to the distinctive MoG sound. The actual recording begins on Monday the 5th at Bluejay in Carlisle. Then it's over to Berklee. Then back to Bluejay for the final touches and mixing. And then it's down to Sony Music Studios in New York City to master it with Vlado Meller. Vlado has used his skill for hundreds of gold and platinum selling rock and pop artists. This will be the third album he's mastered for MoG. A very talented guy and a real MoG booster !  Thanks Vlado !

Wondering what you can do to help MoG get to that next important level ?  Some of you have asked this question. Here's the answer...it's simple and pretty painless !  When this newsletter started back in June we had maybe 15 people who got it. Now we're up to something over 250...fans like yourself (God love ya !), music industry people and media types all over the world. But, you know what ?  If we could reach at least 1000 by this coming June, that would really help to get MoG the needed momentum to propel them toward that next level !  So, if you'd like to help, send us some email addresses of friends, relatives or co-workers you think might like MoG and would like to receive this spiffy newsletter. We'll send them the latest issue and let them know you thought they'd enjoy getting it. Don't worry, we'll give them the option of cancelling at anytime. And, we'll even email you back if they decline so you can avoid them. I mean how good a friend, relative or co-worker could they be if they don't like MoG ?  Looking for another way to help ? Add the MoG web site address to all your email messages ! Anywhere in your messages add   http:/www.Mogmusic.net   and leave a couple of spaces on either end 'cause some email programs allow people to hyper link directly to our site when they click it !  Some people even make the MoG website address a part of their signature section (God love ya !). If you would do either...Thanks, and we mean that !

Now onto the stories behind the headlines...

-  MoG Chosen For The Boston NEMO Showcase 1/17/98 !

Currently our two Spiral shows from 9/25 and 11/19 are viewable on the site behind all this technology:   http://www.onlinetv.com ! Big Thank Yous to Thom Jack, owner of The Spiral and Rick Siegel, owner of OnlineTV, for keeping the momentum going for MoG !  If you're from the NYC area come on out and party with MoG and meet Puddles Of Joy. It's an early night so it won't bump into next day's work too badly !  MoG on at 8:00 with Puddles on at 8:45 !  Do it !

The recording of the new CD is progressing excellently ! We're hoping for a late Feb or early March release date. Keep it here for the latest skinny.

Headlines...

- Spiral Live Internet Broadcast This Wednesday Night !

- 2 New MoG Songs From New CD Readying For Release !

- NEMO Showcase At Copperfield's Draws Crowd !

- "Everyone Knows" Chosen For WRKO Radio Music Bumper !

>From the MoGofile... The new CD is coming along nicely and it looks like it'll have a different title. The head, mad scientist in MoG, Bob Schlink, has been lobbying for "Bizzare Medical Experiments" and seems quite serious about it. I think Bob has been watching too many UFO abduction docu-dramas. So, stay tuned to see if BME makes the cut. Latest estimates put the release of the CD at sometime in late March with Boston area CD release parties scheduled for sometime in May. We'll let you know as we get closer.  And, I heard something about a mini-tour of Montana this summer. Look out Big Sky Country !

Now onto the stories behind the headlines...

- Spiral Live Internet Broadcast This Wednesday Night !

MoG's 5th appearance at The Spiral (244 E. Houston, corner of Ave. A...212-353-1740) in NYC is this Wednesday night at 8:00 pm (EST) along with our pals Puddles Of Joy. This should be a jam packed night...all indications point to the kickoff of Spiral's Live Internet broadcasts through the facilities of OnlineTV.Com. OnlineTV.Com has been wiring The Spiral since early December and if all goes well it will mark the official start of live Internet broadcasts of shows from this hip club. If you're in the CT, NY or NJ area come on out to support MoG and Puddles Of Joy (8:45 set time) live. It's an early enough show so it won't interfere with work the next day. If you can't make it at least try to watch it on your computer...the website for OnlineTV.com is    http://www.onlinetv.com    !

- 2 Songs From New CD Readying For Release !

2 new MoG tunes from our forthcoming CD will be released on a special CD single for radio stations, publications and A & R types. The tunes "Real" and "Sucker" are being brought to New York's Sony Studios this Wednesday for mastering by Vlado Meller. The tunes will then be pressed in a limited edition by Superdups for the above mentioned people AND some of the MoG faithful !  Which category do you fall into ?

 - NEMO Showcase At Copperfield's Draws Crowd !

MoG's Boston Music Awards NEMO Music Showcase at Copperfield's went off without a hitch and entertained the late night crowd, many of whom hadn't seen a MoG show before. We made a lot of converts and collected a good amount of new email addresses for the newsletter. The boys rocked and according to Steve Morse, in his Calendar column "Morse Code" in the Boston Globe, spotlighted MoG as "a hard rocking band with great dynamics and a sound that paid homage to classic-rockers Free."  Thanks, Steve !

Thanks also to Kevin Gilligan of Boston Soundcheck Magazine for catching some of the tunes. We were able to slip a couple of new ones into the set that'll be on the new CD including "Real".

Special thanks to Darby Adams for bringing a bunch of her friends and for acting as crowd control in the inebriated (?) tambourine incident !  The story is too long to go into now, but Darby demonstrated a diplomatic flair in her rescue of the tambourine from the unidentified young lady who thought she was a part of the MoG set. Thanks again, Darby !

- "Everyone Knows" Chosen For WRKO Radio Music Bumper !

Special thanks to our pals over at Boston's 50,000 watt talk radio station WRKO. If you remember, back this past summer Bob, Rob and Kris were on the Jeff Katz Show plugging the Eddie Money show at Hampton Beach. The show's producer is John Curtin. He now produces the TAI (former WFNX music jock) Show in the same time slot and just recently added part of "Everyone Knows" as a music bumper to go into and come out of commercial breaks for the show. Thanks guys !

Now, onto the headlines...

- New MoG CD Single To Be Mailed To Radio Stations !

Our special pressing of 2 tracks "Sucker" and "Real" from the new CD "Bizarre Medical Experiments" has been shipped to 350 targeted college and commercial radio stations across the country. Some of them even went out of the country. And, another 50 went to a select list of magazines and fanzines for review. So don't be surprised to hear some music coming out of the radio and it turns out to be MoG !  This mailing will introduce MoG to tens of thousands of new listeners.

- MoG Part Of SXSW Sampler CD !

MoG was recently selected to be part of a special South By Southwest (SXSW) CD sampler. SXSW is the premier new music conference in the country and is held each spring in Austin, TX. SXSW attracts more music industry people than any other in the U.S. !  This special CD sampler will be placed inside each attendees "goody bag" as they enter SXSW. They can then visit the Superdups booth to listen to more from each artist and contact information will be gathered at that time for those interested in each artist's music. SXSW is expecting anywhere from 4,500 to 5,000 attendees during the conference which runs from March 18th to the 21st. That means another 5,000 or so people will be aware of MoG !  The song selected was "Sucker" from the forthcoming MoG CD "Bizarre Medical Experiments" which is due in stores on April 14th.

- MoG To Invade WRKO, Boston Again !

>From the MoGofile...

This issue is apparently focused exclusively on Radio. It's just the way it works out sometimes. I mean, we're putting the push on getting airplay for the MoGsters so it makes sense that a lot of Radio activity would be the goal, right ?  Of course !  As Martha says, "It's a good thing !" Can you say, "Momentum" ?

And you know what, if you've got some kind of relationship with a Radio station or a particular DJ, we would love it if you tell them about MoG's new CD. As a matter of fact, we'd be happy to send you the new CD single or the full length CD (when it's available) for you to give to your contact at the station !  All you have to do is email me with all the details (it's called screening to make sure you're not just trying to weasel a free CD off of us) and I'll get back to you to let you know if I buy your story !  I know, we're tough...but it is the 90's and we're just an independent record label trying to make MoG a household word.

Now, onto the headlines...

- "Real" May Be Airing On The River's "New Horizons" Show !

This is a very important development. It seems that we may have broken through the WXRV (The River) security perimeter ! The River, 92.5 FM in Haverhill, MA, one of the premier new music Radio stations in the country may be airing "Real" on their new music "make it or break it" shows tonight, Friday (3/6) or Monday (3/9) at 10pm. A couple of songs by new artists are played and reaction is taken from listeners to help The River determine if the music is viable to their audience. So, if you're in listening range, we'd appreciate it if you'd let them know how you feel about MoG's song "Real" !  If you haven't heard it yet, you can go to our website http://www.Mogmusic.net  and listen to a sound clip of "Real". While you're there you can listen to a clip of "Sucker" also.  Now, if doesn't happen on Fri or Mon it may happen sometime during the week of the 9th.

The River has a toll free phone number for you to use in letting them know that you like the MoG song... 800-352-9250. Thanks, in advance, for your support !

- Bizarre Medical Experiment Performed On Senior Citizens !

It's not as evil as it sounds.  Thursday, yours truly, visited a Radio station in Lawrence, MA...WCCM 800 AM. I used to work at its sister station WCGY FM in the same building. WCGY moved to Boston and is now known as The Eagle, 93.7 FM. Anyway, I was visiting an old Radio pal, Dan Brunelle, who now works at WCCM. I delivered copies of the CD single with "Sucker" and "Real" and before both Dan and I knew it we were tossed onto a talk show that was in progress on the station. One thing led to another and the host, Craig Roberts, popped the CD into the player and let "Sucker" loose on an unsuspecting audience. I say unsuspecting because the audience is 60+ and used to hearing Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Dean Martin, etc. Yikes !  It was all captured on tape and may be available on the MoG web site in the future. A Big Thank You to Dan, Craig and those poor senior citizens who probably thought the apocalypse had happened. (Dan tells me he'll being using parts of "Sucker" and "Real" as bumpers for his show !  Look, we don't care how we get played, as long as we get played !)

- WBRS, Waltham, MA Debuts "Sucker" And "Real" !

It looks like WBRS, 100.1 FM, Brandeis Univ., Waltham, MA was the First Radio Station In The Country to play MoG's new songs "Sucker" and "Real" !  Special thanks to Brian Rorke, the Screamin' Demon, for having the good taste to believe in MoG. Not only that, Brian and the Music Director, Casey Safron, debuted "Sucker" at #10 on their Top 30 playlist which is reported to CMJ, the largest new music tracking publication in the country !

If that weren't enough, I visited WBRS on Wednesday (3/4) and was on the air with Brian for about 40 minutes. We talked and played some tracks from the whole CD. 'BRS listeners got to hear "Sucker", "This 'N That", "Real", "Mars", "Them Are Us", "Change" and ""Lie To Me" ! ! !  We gave away some new CD singles and stylishly rogue MoG T-Shirts !  WBRS and Brian Rorke Rule ! ! !

- MoG To Invade WRKO, Boston Again !

Coming up on Friday, April 3rd, MoG will again be guests on Boston's biggest talk station, WRKO AM !  Even though WRKO is a talk station, they seem to have a special place in their hearts for music. It could have something to do with the fact that they used to be one of the most listened to Top 40 stations in the country.

We'll be guests of talkmaster, Tai, at midnight and will get a chance to play some tunes live in the studio, as well as some tracks off the new CD "Bizarre Medical Experiments" ! It will all be great promotion for the new CD which is due to be released on Tuesday, April 14th. Stay tuned for more details !

-  "Sucker" & "Real" Going To Texas For SXSW

South By South West is the largest music conference in the country and is held in Austin, Texas every March. This year's conference is Wednesday the 18th through Saturday the 21st. MoG's song "Sucker" from the forthcoming CD "Bizarre Medical Experiments" is included on a special CD Sampler that will be put into each SXSW attendees "goody bag". That means about 5,000 people will have a copy of "Sucker" to listen to. SXSW attendees include DJs, Managers, Columnists and Reviewers, A&R people and Entertainment lawyers from around the country. But, that's not all...yours truly will be at SXSW with copies of the 2 song MoG CD (which includes "Real") at the Superdups/Krystal Rose Music double booth. Some of the 5,000 who get the special SXSW CD Sampler will be stopping by the booth to get more info on the bands and artists. I'll be at the booth to make sure that they get the needed information on MoG and that second great song "Real" !

-  MoG NeMO Showcase Review In Soundcheck Magazine

Special thanks to Boston SoundCheck magazine for their write up in the current issue (March/April) !  Apparently Scott Myles from the SoundCheck staff was in the audience during MoG's Nemo Showcase set at Copperfield's in Boston, Saturday night January 17th. Here's some of what Scott said, "MoG...is more on the hard rocking side with loads of energy, good dynamics and this thing called the "Viotar". (That's another story!)...the band pulled out a rocking set to a late night crowd...And they managed to slip in couple of new songs including "Real" a song that will be on the next album." SoundCheck is the fastest growing and hippest music magazine in Boston. Pick up a free copy at most record stores, clubs and music equipment stores around New England. Thanks Scott, Bill Restuccia and SoundCheck !

-  Harvey To Guest On WMFO FM On Sat. 4/11

Coming up on Saturday, April 11th, I'll be Morgan Huke's guest on Tufts University's WMFO, 91.5 FM at 4:00pm. 'MFO listeners will be able to catch up on the latest news from MoG and be able to hear some of the other tracks on "Bizarre Medical Experiments" besides just "Sucker" and "Real" !  Morgan tells me that later in the Spring we'll be able to get some of MoG up there for an acoustic set of MoG tunes. We'll let you know when, so don't let your subscription to the MoG email newsletter expire !

-  Viotar (tm) Music In The Hands Of World Skater

The unique musical instrument, The Viotar (tm), that Bob Schlink invented and patented is starting to draw attention. Christopher Dean of the Olympic skating team of Torvill and Dean was interested in hearing the exotic sounds of The Viotar (tm) for possible use in future "Stars On Ice" shows ! So, Kris and I, with the help of our Denver skating contacts, Patti Snyder and Jill Trenary (wife of Christopher), were able to watch "Stars On Ice" at the Worcester Centrum on March 12th. Great seats and an even greater show. It was our first time and we were pleasantly surprised at the skill of these world class and Olympic skaters and the pure entertainment they provided to the capacity audience. We were able to meet Christopher after the show and hand deliver a tape of Viotar (tm) music and sound effects. We were also able to meet Scott Hamilton (an amazing guy and one who has overcome great odds to continue to do what he loves to do !) and present him with a stylishly rogue MoG T-Shirt. Kris was also able to talk to Paul Wylie and some other Stars. So, stay tuned...one day you may hear MoG and The Viotar (tm) as music that the "Stars On Ice" skate to !

This is a big deal !  There are over 160 bands and artists from around the world competing for the prestige of charting on this web site. We'd appreciate your vote for either of the two songs "Sucker" or "Real" !  "Sucker" has the most votes so far, and has us easily in the Top 20 on "Radio BTN", so probably vote for it first and then "Real". After initially accessing the BillboardTalentNet go to the "register" section.  Then wait for an email registration confirmation. (It's almost instantaneo
